This invention relates to an oil pumping unit without a walking beam comprising an electric motor (1) and a speed reducer (3) driven by the motor (1). Through a crank (4), an output of the speed reducer (3) drives a planetary gear (5) engaging with a fixed inner gear (6). The number of the inner gear (6) is twice that of planetary gear (5). There is provided in the unit a rack (7) with one end thereof engaging with the planetary gear (5) and the other end thereof engaging with another gear (8). An output of the gear (8) drives a cable transmission mechanism comprising a cable (11) with one end thereof attached to a balance weight and the other end thereof attached to a pumping rod. The maximum acceleration 0.6m of the pumping rod helps to reduce the inertial force of the pumping rod of the oil pumping unit without a walking beam with improvement in the lubrification and the dust prevention.
