The invention relates to spatial chess type games and can be used for sport competitions, for training mental capacities and for developing descriptive thinking and spatial imagination. The three-dimensional chess game consists of successive directed displacements of chessmen from a discrete playing area to another one within the limits of the three-dimensional chessboard. Players observe a successive cycling passing of move. The chessmen in number 24, 32 or 64 for each player are placed along opposite edges of the volumetric chessboard. The chessboard is embodied in the form of a multilevel structure with discrete playing areas on each level used for arranging chessmen therein, specifically in the form of a cube with discrete playing areas on each level used for arranging chessmen therein. The chess board is embodied in such a way that it allows movement in space at will. The playing areas are interrelated in the spatial volume of the chessboard with the aid of their relative colour positions in a prescribed order and are provided with the possibility of changing their physical properties in terms of dimensions, chromaticity and contrast.
