CUSTOMER ORIENTED VISUAL INFORMATION SYSTEM

Authenticated film trailers, which have been digitally encoded and stored on a computer database or DVD disc (22), are made visually accessible to a consumer by use of the bar code on the video or DVD case. The consumer presents the bar code to a scanner (14), and this information is used to access the database (22). The chosen visual material is delivered to a CRT monitor (10) or TFT screen for preview. The end of each clip can be recognised, with the display then returning to a continuously playing loop until interrupted by the next user scanning a bar code.
