The soil thrower for a beet harvester has a rotor (1) with its rotary axis (D, D') perpendicular to the support and driven with a speed of at least three hundred revolutions per minute. The projector is mounted above the support and its axis is adjacent to the outer periphery of the support. The support can rotate in one direction with the rotor moving the opposite direction.
