STEEL GUARDRAIL FOR ROADWAY AND IMPACT RELAXATION DEVICE INSTALLED IN STEEL GUARDRAIL

PURPOSE: A steel guardrail for roadway and an impact relaxation device installed in the steel guardrail are provided to prevent a secondary accident by enhancing the structural performance, and minimize a deformation of structure and the damage of the guardrail and a vehicle by absorbing the impact in multi-stage during crashing. CONSTITUTION: A steel guardrail for a roadway comprises; numerous props(10) in which more than one installing grooves are depressed; numerous cross beams(20); and a connection rod(30) which connects the rear end of one cross beam(20) to the front end of the other cross beams(20) in the direction of the length. In the cross beams(20), an opened part(21) having an engaging lug(22) is formed, and the engaging lug(22) is projected inward from one side facing the installing groove. The cross beam(20) is installed in the prop(10) in a row or numerous rows by a fixing hook(23) in '£' shape installed in the engaging lug(22) with a fastening member. In an impact relaxation device, an impact relaxing member comprises a hollow member in rectangular section to absorb the impact, which occurs between the cross beam(20) and the prop(10). And then the impact relaxing member is installed with a first bolt member and a second bolt member. The first bolt is fastened in an installation groove, and the second bolt is fastened in the fixing hook.
