SMART CARD READING SYSTEM HAVING PC SECURITY AND PKI SOLUTION AND FOR PERFORMING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A system and a method for reading a smart card with the functions of a personal computer(PC) security and a public key infrastructure(PKI) solution are provided to perform a reliable security of the PC, and to perform an authentication without the limit in a place, by reading the PC security information and the authentication information recorded in the smart card. CONSTITUTION: A card socket part(112) in a smart card reading part(110) is provided with a hole into which a smart card(100) is inserted. A memory(114) stores and output the user registration information on an accessed PC(120). A microcomputer(116) compares the card information from the inserted smart card(100) with the PC registration information stored in the memory(114), and thereby outputs a PC use allowing signal. An authentication system(140) issues, cancels and identifies an authentication document in response to the request for issuing the document from the PC(120) via the network.
