PURPOSE: A method for deciding a path in a wideband network composed of different kinds of lower networks is provided to divide path deciding matters into small sizes to distributedly process the divided path deciding matters, so as to maintain quality of service(QoS) requirements in the wideband network. CONSTITUTION: If an NCC(Network Control Center) receives a path decision request from a start node, the NCC performs a path decision when an arrive node is within an area. If the arrive node is not within the area, the NCC performs a path decision between the start node and gateways of a present area to transmit the path decision to an upper area with the path decision request to the arrive node. If the NCC receives a path decision request from a lower area, and if the arrive node is not included in the area, the NCC performs a path decision from gateways of an area including the start node to the gateways of the present area, and transmits the path decision to an upper area with the path decision request to the arrive node. If the arrive node is included within the area, the NCC performs a path decision from the gateways of the area including the start node to gateways of an area including the arrive node, and requests a path decision to the lower area including the arrive node. If the NCC receives a path decision from the upper area, and if the arrive node is not included in the present area, the NCC performs a path decision between the gateways of the present area and the gateways of the lower area, and requests a path decision to the lower area. If the arrive node is included in the present area, the NCC performs a path decision to the arrive node from the gateways of the present area, and transmits path deciding result information to the arrive node.
