VISCUM ALBUM COLORATUM EXTRACT AND PROTEIN SEPARATED THEREFROM AND LECTIN SEPARATED FROM THE PROTEIN

PURPOSE: A Viscum album coloratum extract KM-110, a protein KM-AS separated therefrom and lectin KML-C(KML-IIU and KML-IIL) separated from the protein are provided, which show immune-enhancing effect by stimulating humoral and cellular immune system, and show anti-cancer effect in a clinical experiment using animal. CONSTITUTION: A process for the separation of Viscum album coloratum extract KM-110 and protein ingredient KM-AS comprises the steps of: collecting Viscum album coloratum, washing with distilled water, drying and freezing; cutting the freezed Viscum album coloratum, mixing and shaking at 4C for 8-12hrs; centrifuging at 4C for 30minutes, and filtering in order with membrane filters in different size of pore size to get brown powder(KM-110); controlling the concentration of the powder with PBS to prepare stock solution, and storing at -20C; gaining protein fraction KM-AS by precipitation method using 70% saturated ammonium sulphate; and separating lectin KML-C from the KM-AS by sepharose-4B-filled column chromatography; separating two protein(KML-IIU and KML-IIL) of the KML-C by electrophoresis, and naming; separating a protein KMHBP from the C-free-AS(eliminating KML-C from KM-AS) by heparin column.
