PURPOSE: An apparatus for counting a number of thunderbolt strikes is provided to protect a system from overcurrent. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for counting a number of thunderbolt strikes includes a power supply part(10), the first cut-off part(20), the second cut-off part(40), a lighting arrest(50), and a lamp(PL). The first cut-off part(20) causes the power supply of the power supply part(10) to a system(30) to be cut off when the current of the power provided to the system(30) is more than a reference current. The second cut-off part(40) is connected in parallel between the first cut-off part(20) and the system(30). The second cut-off part(40) causes the power provided through a power line to the system(30) to be cut off when the current of the power is more than the reference current. The lighting arrest(50) is connected with the second cut-off(40) and the ground. When the power supplying to the system(30) is cut off by the first and second cut-off parts(20, 40), the lamp(PL) is tuned on.
