AGENT SEPARATED FROM THYMUS VULGARIS AND ACTIVATING THE HUMORAL IMMUNITY, AND PRODUCING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An agent separated from Thymus vulgaris and activating the humoral immunity is provided which can be used in foods and drugs for cancer patients and immunosuppressant patients. And a producing method thereof is also provided. CONSTITUTION: The agent separated from Thymus vulgaris and activating the humoral immunity contains pectin consisting of galacturonic acid and glucuronic acid as an active ingredient and is used for an anticancer adjuvant. The method for producing the agent comprises the steps of: extracting Thymus vulgaris with hot water; adding 30 to 75% of ethanol into the extract of Thymus vulgaris to precipitate; separating a solution containing precipitates having more than 300,000 dalton of molecular weight by ultracentrifugation; obtaining the eluate by passing the solution through the anionic exchange resin column and adding 0.3M NaCl; obtaining the eluate by passing the anionic exchange eluate through the hydrophobic column; and carrying out gel chromatography with the hydrophobic column eluate to produce the agent for activating the humoral immunity.
