TARGET APPARATUS FOR LOCKING PROXIMAL AND DISTAL PARTS OF MEDULLARY NAIL TO PREVENT EXPOSURE TO X-RAY RADIATION

PURPOSE: A target apparatus is provided to prevent any operator from disclosing to X-ray radiation by locking of proximal and distal positions of medullary nail and forming the apparatus to allow its corresponding bores to continuously be secured within slots of the medullary nail. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a space holding device(2) consisting of two parts(8,9), a "U" shaped proximal target device(5) and another "U" shaped distal target device(4). All of them are arranged on a plane to a center axis of the medullary nail slot(11) and coupled together by a connection device(12). The space holding device(2) is perpendicular to a guide boring(10) of a joint part(3) and the plane to the axis of slot(11) and is rotatably equipped on the proximal target device(5). The distal target device(4) has a supporting part connected to the connection device(12) on the above plane. The connection device(12) is inserted into borings(13,13') equal to the gap of the guide boring(10) on both the proximal and the distal devices(4, 5).
