PURPOSE: A microcomputer-embedded multimedia IMT2000 portable terminal system is provided to construct a wireless/wired integrated network by improving the compatibility between a portable phone and a personal computer and to execute various multimedia functions as well as old voice and character information services. CONSTITUTION: In case that a multimedia signal of image, voice and generic data is transmitted to a base station from a terminal, an input/output part(29) digitalizes the analog signal and stores it in a microcomputer(30) after information processing. Also a MUX/DEMUX(31) modulates the multimedia data. An RF(Radio Frequency) processing part(32) carries out RF modulation processing for the signal and then transmits it to the base station. In case that the terminal receives a multimedia signal through an antenna(33), the RF processing part executes RF demodulation processing for the signal. The MUX/DEMUX(31) demultiplexes the image, voice and generic data and executes image and voice processing for them. Finally the microcomputer(30) controls and outputs these data.
