BREAKWATER CONSTRUCTION STRUCTURE BUILT ON POOR GROUND

PURPOSE: A breakwater construction structure built on a poor ground is provided to save construction costs and reduce a term of works in case of excavating the wide range of a poor ground and replacing high-quality sand. CONSTITUTION: A seabed(2) for the building location of a breakwater is excavated at a certain depth and replaced by a sand layer(3). A hard mat(4) is laid on the upper side of the sand layer. Scrap tires(5) are bound together and laid in all directions horizontally with bands on the upper side of the hard mat. Sand is filled in the scrap tire and a rubble base(7) is laid down on the upper side of the scrap tire. A caisson(9) with square partition walls(10,10a) is installed on the front and rear side walls on the upper side of the rubble base. Concave and convex surfaces(12,13) are formed on the outside wall of the upper side of the caisson. Hollow blocks(11) are piled up with several seawater-passing holes(14) on the concave surface. Then, two partition walls(8,8a) divide the inside into the caisson and the hollow block. Ripraps are filled in between two partition walls. A concrete cap(15) is fixed on the upper side of the space in the middle of two partition walls.
