PURPOSE: A multimetallic metallocene catalyst for polymerization of styrene and a method for preparing styrene-based polymers using the catalyst are provided, to obtain styrene-based polymer with good stereoregularity, high melting point and good molecular weight and its distribution. CONSTITUTION: The multimetallic metallocene catalyst comprises three transition metals within a molecule by the cross-linking of auxiliary ligand connected with central metal atom, and is represented by the formula (I). Also the multimetallic metallocene catalyst comprises four transition metals within a molecule by the cross-linking of auxiliary ligand connected with central metal atom, and is represented by the formula 2. In the formulas (I) and (II), M1, M2, M3 and M4 are independent each other and represent Ti, Zr or Hf; Cp1, Cp2, Cp3 and Cp4 are independent each other and represent cyclopentadienyl group, indenyl group, fluorenyl group or their derivatives; A1, A2, A3 and A4 are independent each other and are represented by the formula (III) (wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9 and R10 are independent each other and represent H, an alkyl group of C1-C20, a cycloalkyl group of C1-C20, a cycloalkoxy group of C1-C20, an aryl group of C6-C20, an alkylaryl group of C6-C20, or an arylalkyl group of C6-C20, and n is an integer of 0-5); and X1, X2, X3 and X4 are independent each other and represent H, halogen, an alkyl group of C1-C20, a cycloalkyl group of C1-C20, a cycloalkoxy group of C1-C20, an aryl group of C6-C20, an alkylaryl group of C6-C20, or an arylalkyl group of C6-C20.
