DEVICE FOR PREVENTING NECK FROM BEING INJURED IN SEAT OF VEHICLE

PURPOSE: A neck protecting device of a seat in a vehicle is provided to prevent a head of a passenger from being pulled back, and to protect a neck by pulling back a seat back at a rear-end collision. CONSTITUTION: A neck protector of a vehicle seat is composed of a rear-end collision detecting sensor(11) detecting a rear-end collision; an ECU(Electronic Control Unit)(27) detecting a rear-end collision by a signal from the rear-end collision detecting sensor, and outputting a control signal; an ignition unit(26) igniting by the control signal from the ECU; a propellant(24) exploding by the ignition unit; a plunger(12) pushed by driving force of the propellant; a rack gear(16) integrated with the plunger and a shaft(14) and pulled; a pinion gear(18) engaged with the rack gear to rotate; and a rotating shaft(22) combined with the pinion gear and a supporting shaft(20) to rotate. The rear-end collision detecting unit detects the collision, and inputs the signal to the ECU. The ECU detects the collision, and outputs the control signal to the ignition unit. The propellant is exploded by ignition, and the plunger is pushed. The head of a passenger is prevented from being pulled back by pulling back the seat back with driving the rack gear and the pinion gear.
