PURPOSE: A method for coating the transferring rail of a billet for a steel pipe by using a ceramic lubricant is provided which prevents the surface defects of the billet by minimizing the friction between the billet and a contact side where the billet is continuously moved by sliding to be heat-treated in a high frequency induction furnace. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: (i) mixing 5-20 % of Al2O3, 1-20% of B2O3, 3-25% of CaO regarding 40-80% of SiO2 powder; (ii) coating rail with the mixture powder of the step (i) with heating the rail at a temperature of 1,000-1,200 deg.C in a thickness of 2-3 millimeters under spraying conditions of oxygen pressure of 20-30 pounds per square inch and acetylene pressure of 5-20 pounds per square inch; and (iii) heating and melting the coated body of the step (ii) at a temperature of about 1,200 deg.C for 20-30 hours at work.
