PURPOSE: A method for preparing a lithium manganese composite oxide spinel of Li1+xMn2-xO4 is provided, wherein x is not less than 0 and not more than 0.12, being used as an anode active material of lithium or lithium ion secondary battery. The lithium manganese composite oxide spinel has improved electrochemical performance. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: (i) mixing a manganese compound prepared by simultaneously applying mechanical force and heat energy to the manganese compound to remove defects being existent the particles of the manganese compound and agglutinate the particles and control the shape of the agglutinated particles with a lithium compound; and (ii) calcining the mixture of the step (i).
