Anti-cancer agent containing masonone E from family Ulmaceae

PURPOSE: An anti-cancer drug containing Mansonon E extracted from Ulmaceae is provided, which shows excellent anti-cancer effect while has low toxicity by containing Mansonon E. CONSTITUTION: A process for the preparation of Mansonon E extracted from Ulmaceae comprises the steps of: cutting dried Ulmaceae plant into fine pieces, adding methanol, heating for 3hrs to extract, and filtering to separate supernatant and residue; concentrating the supernatant under decompression, and freeze-drying to get methanol extract; suspending the extract in distilled water, and re-extracting after adding methylenechloride; concentrating the methylenechloride extract till the solvent is removed completely, and concentrating to get the residue; and processing silicagel column chromatography(n-hexane:ethylacetate=4:1, 3:1, 2:1, 1:1) repeatedly to get Mansonon E fraction. The anti-cancer drug containing Mansonon E extracted from Ulmaceae can be prepared in the form of a tablet, a capsule, an infusion solution, a granule, or a pill.
