PURPOSE: An improved DS/CDMA rake receiver and method therefor is provided to decrease performance degradation according to the output of a finger including many errors and improve a BER(Bit Error Rate) performance by multiplying the output of each finger by a weight value according to the reliability of the output of each finger. CONSTITUTION: Each finger(200-202) generates a code having a code phase suitable for a specific path, multiplies the generated code by a received signal to obtain a moving average, and estimates a channel to compensate the channel. Each slicer(210-212) slices an output value of each finger(200-202). The first adder(220) adds the output of each finger(200-202). The second slicer(221) slices an output of the first adder(220). A weight value determining unit(230) discriminates reliability to the output of each slicer(210-212) and determines a weight value according to the discriminated result. A plurality of multipliers(240-242) multiply the weight value determined in the weight value determining unit(230) by the output of each finger(200-202). The second adder(250) adds an output of each multiplier(240-242). The third slicer(260) slices the added value.
