PURPOSE: An ignition method and an ignition apparatus are provided to reduce the fluctuation of engine torque by adjusting the ignition time according to an engine RPM, load, exhaust gas, and knocking degree as well as a gear shifting, an opening degree of throttle, and a variation of a vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION: An ignition apparatus includes a throttle position sensor(1) for outputting an electric signal by detecting an opening degree of a throttle, an input RPM sensor(2) for detecting an RPM of an input shaft of a transmission, an output RPM sensor(3) for detecting an RPM of an output shaft of the transmission, a transmission control unit(4) for receiving signals from the input RPM sensor(2) and output RPM sensor(3), an ECU(5) for determining an ignition time, and an ignition section(6) for igniting the engine. Output terminals of the throttle position sensor(1), the input RPM sensor, and the output RPM sensor(3) are connected to an input terminal of the transmission control unit(4). An output terminal of the transmission control unit(4) is connected to an input terminal of the ECU(5). An output terminal of the ECU(5) is connected to an input terminal of the ignition section(6).
