The shutter, designed to be fitted on the outside of a window or French window to keep out light and deployable and retractable vertically, consists of a series of horizontal slats (5) with end guides (13, 13') sliding in vertical channels (11, 11') of fixed slideways (10, 10'), with each slat pivoting about an axis (13) close to one lengthwise edge (14) as it turns between horizontal and vertical positions. In addition, each of the slideways has a lateral extension (15) on the inside of the shutter to cover the gap between the slideways and shutter ends, the inner surfaces of the extensions having an anti-reflective coating (15a).
