The covering has a foldable slat assembly (11) including a top with an adhesive attached to a window. A set of foldable slats (14) is disposed under the top, where each slat has an opening. Two locking mechanisms (30) are mounted in either side of the slat assembly. Each locking mechanism inserts via the openings of a selected number of slats and locks the slats to determine an area of the window covered by the slat assembly.
