The propellant charge (1), for a shell projectile or rocket, has a conventional core charge with a firing system (4). The core is contained within a compact charge (3) shrouding, with its own firing system (5) of electrical conductors (6,7) with a high electrical energy, with a controlled time delay after firing the core charge. During the combustion of the core charge, the surrounding compact charge is fired in fractions with a regular geometry. The fractions accelerate the gas vol. developed by the combustion of the core charge.
