After receiving an electrical impulse (E1) a piezo-electrical transducer moves from position (Z1) to position (Z2) over a time interval (Ta1). The time (t2) at which the transducer reaches its final position is deduced from a measurement of the noise (Sp1) produced by the mechanical impact of the armature. An Independent claim is also included for a piezo-electric transducer fitted with an electro-acoustic receiver, e.g. a microphone, and an evaluation unit to evaluate the time interval (Ta1) from the acoustic time interval (Tm1).
