Mixtures of oxide and/or silicate fillers and silyl group-containing rubber are obtained by adding 0.5-800 parts by weight (pts. wt.) filler to 100 pts. wt. rubber containing 0.01-2.5 wt% silicon in the form of hydrolyzable silyl groups, dissolved in an organic solvent, and removing the solvent (during or after mixing) with hot water and/or steam at 50-200 deg C.
