The invention relates to methods for detecting products of a nucleic acid amplification reaction, whereby novel primers containing a primer-integrated reporter sequence and specific probes therefor enable a highly sensitive, quantitative determination of the amplification products. The invention also relates to reagent kits and nucleic acids which are suitable as PIRS primers.
