A fluorescent dye is injected intravenously and the perfusion status determined from the infrared intensity based on fluorescent stimulation in the IR spectral region. A laser diode (1) with emission spectrum reduced by an interference filter (2) to a few nanometers excites the blood vessels (4) in the tissue (3).
