The arrangement has a radar transmitter and receiver (1) for transmitting radar waves and receiving reflected waves from an impact-relevant surface (3) and a Doppler frequency evaluation unit that detects relative movement of the reflection surface from a Doppler signal. The impact-relevant reflective surface is rigidly attached to the vehicle and is esp. an external surface of the vehicle.
