Carrying out a heterogeneously catalysed polymerisation reaction using at least two differently labelled catalyst/support systems in a single reaction mixture, in which the marker groups are selected so that the resulting polymerisation products can be assigned to particular catalyst/support systems without dissolution. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a similar process using at least one unlabelled catalyst/support system and at least one labelled system in a single reaction mixture, with marker groups selected as above; (b) labelled polymer mixtures obtained by these processes.
