The sieve for a combine harvester for cereals is parallel to the direction of motion of the harvester and has a ziz-zag cross-section. with repeated connecting sections(13, 13a, 13b, 13c). These have two arms (16, 18), the first (16) forming a smaller angle (17) with the horizontal (15) than the angle (20) the second (18) forms. The arms form a channel and the second arm has spaced openings. The first arm is fitted with an extension (22) which stretches along it and ends at the join (19) between the two arms.
