The variator consists of an input disk (2a) and an output disk (3a) which define a first cavity (8) and an input disk (2b) and an output disk (3b) defining a second cavity (9). A loading cam mechanism (6) acts as a pressing mechanism on the back of the first input disk (2a) towards the second disk (3a) and includes the cam disk (4) with metal flows (J1); and roller (5), which serve as a pressing member. A pair of power rollers (10) are brought into contact with the traction surfaces of the disks 2a, 3a. The outer circumference of the power rollers are brought into contact with the traction surfaces of the disks 2b, 3b. The input disks are attached to an input shaft (1) by means of a ball spline (1a) so that they are not rotatable relative to each other and rotate with the shaft. The input shaft is coupled with the drive shaft (22) via a bearing (23) so as to be rotatable to each other, this being rotated by such means as an engine. Each power roller is rotatably connected to a trunnion (11) by a power roller bearing, the trunnion is rockable around a trunnion shaft (7).
