The plastic insulating plug has a shaft which, at least on the front foot part (12) facing the point (14) has a sharp-edged flat V-shaped thread (16). The plug head has a spanner insert. The rear head part (10) of the shaft is cylindrical; and the front foot-part of the shaft is conical. The depth of the thread of the flat point-thread diminishes after the plug-point. A flange cap (18) is molded on the head-end of the cylindrical shaft part. The thread pitch has a curved cutting edge (17) on the plug-point.
