The seat shell (1) is hollow with a gas channel (12) integrated into it between gas producer (11) and airbags (2-5) and the shell cavity acts as distribution space (12) connected to the airbags (2-5,7,9,10) via gas outlet ports (13-19) in the shell wall. The distribution space (12) contains air chokes (23) and the integrated gas producer (11) is in the front part of the seat shell. A gas-flowed transverse retainer (8) acts as gas channel or distributor (20) and is hollowed out to serve the airbags (9,10) it carries. Some of the gas outlet ports are fitted with valves used to sequence and/or increase the inflation procedures.
