The workpiece transfer system has transfer strips (10, 20) each of which is made up of one or two guide rails (11, 13, 21, 23). An endless belt (12, 14, 22, 24) is mounted in each of these. The transfer strips are at an angle to each other and the endless belts are arranged with a gap, allowing a workpiece (50) to be transferred from one strip to the other. Additional guide components (30, 40) may be fitted to guide the workpieces from one strip to the other.
