The display has a multilayer structure with a series of electroluminescent light layers (6.1-6.3) and intermediate, transparent, electrically conducting layers (5.1-5.4). The thickness of the light layers is less than 20 microns, e.g. between 2 and 10 microns. The light layers are made of a polymer-based material. An Independent claim is also included for a chip card with a display.
