The network includes at least one power consumer such as a lamp (1) and a connector. The network has an information sink and an information source (3). Transmission of information between the source and the sink is performed via the cabling of the power supply network, and also in a wireless manner via information transmitters (5) and receivers (6) which may operated by light (7), EM waves or ultrasound. At least one of the transmitters and/or receivers is formed in one of the power consumers or connectors, and connected electrically via a converter to at least one line of the power supply network. Independent claims are included for a power socket, a lamp with a screw-in or plug-in fitting, a luminaire, and a method of information transmission.
