Producing immunoreactive F(ab)2 fragments of monoclonal antibodies, comprising subjecting culture supernatant from in vitro or ascites hybridoma culture containing endogenous or added procathepsin D to dialysis at 4-10 deg C, against a pH 2.5-4.0 buffer to activate the procathepsin D, and then against a salt-containing pH 7.0-8.2 buffer to stop the proteolysis after antibody processing, is new.
