The building block consisting of an outer element (1) and an inner element (2) joined to one another by a number of connector elements (3) is characterized by the following facts: a) the outer element consists of a heat insulating foamed material, in particular, on the basis of polystyrene or polyurethane; b) the inner element consist of a mineral material capable of equalizing temperatures and moisture contents. Also claimed is a system for joining the proposed building blocks. Such a system takes the form of a plate which is provided on both sides with protruding pins, nails or similar elements.
