摘要
Removing impurities from coke oven gas comprises scrubbing in a counter-current stream using an absorbent consisting of triethylene glycol at the head of the absorber column. Removing impurities, especially water, from coke oven gas comprises scrubbing in a counter current stream using an absorbent consisting of triethylene glycol at the head of the absorber column. The absorbent is sprayed via nozzles against the gas stream in such a way that a large part of the column cross-section is covered and the scrubbed gas flows to a separator. The absorbent is trapped and collected enriched with scrubbed material in the column sump. The absorbent is regenerated by distillation and recycled back into the column. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for drying coke oven gas comprising an absorption device, preferably a column (1) with insertions and demister (5); and a regeneration unit consisting of a distillation column with a dephlegmator, re-boiler, heat exchanger, condenser, gas separator, separator and storage container for triethylene glycol and products. The absorber column has a liquid distributor in the head, nozzle planes (2) with discharge plates (3) between them, and a sump for collecting the enriched absorbent. Preferred Features: The absorbent is regenerated at above the naphthalene boiling point of 225 deg C.
