The device has a pivot blade (15) moved between early and late positions. A locking pin (35) locks the rotors together in late blade position when the oil pressure drops below a minimum, and releases them above that minimum. The locking pin is released by the oil pressure in a late adjusting chamber (33), and kept unlocked by the oil pressures in early and late adjusting chambers (32,33). The fixing pin is located in the hub (14) of the inner rotor (2), and the holder bore for the pin is located in the outer rotor (1) and parallel to its rotary axis.
