Discs pass one after another on a conveyer belt (18) to a machining station (30) with cutting tools (128). Discs are supported on the underside as they pass through a pressure application area (93) of the station. Pressure is applied to the upper side without significant increase in friction to press discs against the conveyer during the machining operation. The machining tools rotate about axes perpendicular to the to the discs. An Independent claim is made for the process equipment which includes a machining station (30) with tools (128), a conveyer (18) moving discs to the station and a pressure application area (93) on the upper side for pressing discs onto the conveyer.
