The connecting rod whose length can be adjusted consists of a sleeve component (2) inside which a second component (4) can slide. Both components are made from plastic and they are fixed in the desired position by a U -shaped clip (6) made from sheet metal which slides over ridges on the sleeve and has blades which cut through it into the inner component.
