The device for vaporising formic acid to combat Varroa mite in beehives comprises a dispenser (10) which is connected via a wick (5) to a reservoir (1) of acid (8). The size of the dispenser and the bore (6) in which the wick is fitted are designed so that they supply a constant amount of acid to the vaporisation surface (14). The stopper (3) in which the wick fits when used with a screw top (2) allows unused acid to be stored for re-use.
