The engine block has magnetic field force lines which intersect with the magnetized pistons or piston rings, so that piston movement voltages are induced in the coils. The voltages are transmitted via a regulator. By the use of different field coils in the engine block, and corresponding external wiring, the KCM works as a light generator for vehicles.
