Rail vehicle relative spacing detection method for preventing train collision uses measurement of propagation times of interrogation and response signals

The relative spacing detection method uses measurement of the propagation times of interrogation and response HF signals transmitted between transceivers mounted at opposite ends of a train or on 2 separate trains. The response signal is delayed by a defined time delay in a reflector unit before transmission back to the interrogation transceiver. An Independent claim for a rail vehicle relative spacing detection device is also included.
