The coding device has the input voltage and the inverse output voltage supplied to respective voltage-controlled current sources (IU1,IU2), providing currents fed to a capacitor (C1), together with the currents from 2 further voltage-controlled current sources (IU3,IU4). The capacitor voltage is compared with different switch thresholds (E1,E2) via 2 comparators (Comp1,Comp2), coupled to a pair of registers (Register1,Register2), controlling the further current sources. A third register is supplied with a step code provided by a counter and controls a further voltage-controlled current source, supplying a capacitor providing the output voltage.
