Dental crown machining method uses examination of milled ceramic blank by digital video camera and computerized image processing and control of 3-D milling machine

The machining method uses 3-D milling technique for formation of a dental crown from a ceramic blank (1), using a high power digital video camera (15) for examination of the milled blank, coupled to a personal computer (16) for digital image processing and control of the 3-D milling machine (14) via a stored milling program, e.g. an extrapolation program. An Independent claim for a dental crown machining device is also included.
