The air-cooled sun protection system involves a sun protection (7) on the window inside closing from bottom to top and forming a channel with the external glazing (6). On the lower side of the sun protection air is sucked by an air-conditioning plant, so that the air flow can cool the sun protection and the inside of the glazing. The thereby heated air increases the cooling power of the air-conditioning plant. The sun protection takes the form of a Venetian blind or a perforated roller blind. The upper gap between the sun protection and the glazing is completely or nearly closes, so that the air can flow through the sun protection into the air channel. The sucked air (8) is fed further by the air-conditioning plant to the room or is fed away out of the room.
