A control valve (34) is arranged in the return line (30) upstream of the suction jet pump (38). The control valve has a float body carried by the fuel in the feed container (14) in the region of a maximum filling level (hmax). By which a valve element of the control valve is movable. So that in a first position, with the filling level lying under the max. filling position in the feed container, a connection of the return line with the suction jet pump is produced and with the maximum filling position (hmax) in the feed container, in a second position, the connection of the return line is separated, and the return line opens out in the feed chamber. The feed chamber is arranged in the fuel storage tank (12).
