Pyrido(2,3-b)indol-9-ylmethyl-phenylacetic acid amide derivatives (I) are new. The pyrido(2,3-b)indol-9-ylmethyl-phenylacetic acid amide derivatives of formula (I) and their base and addition salts. R1-R4 = H, CH3, C2H5, CH2OH, OH, COOH, or CHO; D = alkyl or cycloalkyl (each with 3-8C and each optionally mono- or disubstituted with OH or monosubstituted with oxo); R5 = phenyl optionally mono- or disubstituted with NO2, halo, OH or alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxy and/or alkoxycarbonyl (each with up to 3C); R6 = H, COOH, or alkoxycarbonyl alkyl or hydroxyalkyl (each with up to 3C). An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of compounds (I).
